Open Food Facts
Product names, brands, and catalog images displayed by the app can come from the Open Food Facts community. Open Food Facts is a product-information source, not a recall authority.

The app makes read-only requests to the Open Food Facts API and identifies itself with an application User-Agent so the project can see how its data is used.
Government sources
The app links to public recall information published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service.

- USDA FSIS Recall API, with the FSIS recalls feed as a fallback.
